If you get a message near the top of the screen saying “Security Warning: Macros have been disabled.”, you should click on “Options” just to the right of this message. You should get a dialog box informing you that the macros were signed by “RealData, Inc.”. You can then click “Trust all documents from this publisher”, and macros will be enabled in this workbook and in all other RealData workbooks.
You may see a warning that the digital signature has expired. If so, read the knowledgebase article on expired digital signatures.
Alternatively, when you click on “Options”, you may get a dialog box saying “This file contains encrypted macros that have been disabled because there is no antivirus software installed that can scan them. To run these macros, remove the encryption or permission restrictions on the file.” This message appears if you saved the workbook in “.xlsm” file format. Unfortunately, there is no way to enable the macros in this workbook. This is a known problem that has been reported to Microsoft. See also the knowledgebase article on encrypted macros.
To avoid this problem, you should save your workbooks in “.xls” file format instead of “.xlsm” file format.
